Lorenzo Cain, OF for the Royals, is back from injury and picking up where he left off!
After injuring his leg (groin) in April, Cain has been sidelined until now. KC had an interesting lineup heading into the year with Cain, Hosmer, Butler, and Gordan – but it had to wait until now to be realized.
In spring training, Cain was on fire. He hit everything, swiped bags, and had some power. He had proved this in the minors the previous year – .312 avg, 12 HRs, 16 SB. So his strong numbers weren’t necessarily a fluke.
Now that he’s back, he is hitting (in 4 games) .429, 3 Runs, and 2 RBIs. Not bad at all. His lineup position is still up in the air, but he is likely to be in the #2 spot, although he was hitting in the #4 spot the other day.
All in all, Cain has the talent to be a impact player in fantasy. If he can stay healthy, he could have a nice second half.
If you need any outfield help in all but the shallowest leagues, Cain is a good option.
