2014 Fantasy Baseball Sleeper Report

Infield Bargains

Michael Cuddyer - Rockies - Cuddyer seems to be a sleeper every year because he gets little respect, but with his move to Colorado, Cuddyer is a very big sleeper in 2014.

Michael CuddyerThe move to Colorado should give his numbers the needed bump to put him in the .280, 40 double, 5 triple, 25 home run range, but his draft status won’t likely show that. In addition to his move to Colorado, and maybe more importantly, Cuddyer will qualify at second base along with outfield and first base giving him increased value.

In the end, Cuddyer should fall to somewhere around the 10th round or slightly beyond in the 2014 fantasy baseball draft, so targeting him in the late 9th to 10th rounds should secure this fantasy bargain for you.

Ike Davis - Mets - Davis broke out in 2010 when he took over first base for the Mets and went on to smack 19 home runs. The lefty came into 2011 with high hopes and those hopes were being fulfilled early on as Davis stormed out of the gates with seven home runs, eight doubles and 25 RBI’s while batting .307 in the first 36 games. Then came a serious ankle injury that ended Davis’ season.

Ike DavisThe injury wasn’t as serious as first thought and Davis is 100% as spring training gets ready to begin in 2014. Big things are expected out of Davis from the Mets as he is slated to bat clean up, and while the Mets’ line up doesn’t exactly scare anybody, Davis just may be the best hitter in their line up.

Davis was on track for a .300, 30 home run, 100 RBI season before the injury, and while he may not be quite that good, .290 and 25 home runs should be a reasonable goal and Davis should fall in the draft making him a draft day bargain.
