San Diego prospect, Jedd Gyorko, is mashing in the minors this year. The 23 year old doesn’t seem like he has anything left to prove, he’s just awaiting a call up.
What has he done so far? Gyorko is hitting .321, has 21 HRs, and has 71 RBIs. Nothing wrong with any of that. Even more impressive, since being promoted to AAA, he has hit .355 (54 games). In his 3 years in the minors, he has never hit below .300.
To recap: Great average and has power. I likes.
Not to be overlooked, the Padres are shopping their current 3B Chase Headly. Who better to take Headly’s place then a top prospect!
For fantasy, Gyorko is interesting. I hate that he plays in Petco, but I like everything else. He is worth a spot in deep leagues. Wait for a callup in medium leagues. Wait for production in shallow leagues. He could have an effect in any format before the years is out.
Note: In many leagues he qualifies for 2B
