The 24-year-old Marte had a big 2012 Spring Training, but was sent down to AAA to refine his skills. He hit .286 in 98 games for Indianapolis with 20 doubles, 13 triples, 12 home runs, 61 RBI’s and 21 stolen bases.
He is a must pick up if you have a player you can drop. He is starting for a winning Pirate team and if he plays to the level of his 2012 Spring Training, he will be a goldmine. He is more likely to be just a good solid fantasy starter who can steal and hit for power. As usual, if he stinks it up, you get to cut him.
