He recently was called up from AAA-Omaha. It is hard to
get excited about any of the Royal pitchers because of their
lack of winning, but Hochevar is a big-time talent.
Aaron Laffey - Indians
He started his 2008 season by blowing a well-pitched game
to the New York Yankees and now has followed up with 3 straight
7 inning no-earned-run performances. Overall he is 2-2 with
a 1.85 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 26.2 innings. His dominating
minor league career included a 9-3 mark with a 3.09 ERA
in AAA 2007. He went 4-2 with a 4.58 ERA for the Indians
in 2007.
Gavin Floyd - White Sox
The 25 year-old is 3-1 with a 2.50 ERA in 2008. He has
a low k-ratio, striking out just 19 in 39.2 innings. He
was 1-5 with a 5.27 ERA in 2007.
