The 22-year-old is off to a great start at 3-0 and an
ERA just over 3.00. The Reds selected Leake with the eighth
overall pick in the 2009 and he skipped the minors (a rare
feat). He may not pitch at this level all season, but he
is worth the ride until he falters.
He was 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in Triple-A Albuquerque and
is now 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA. Ely has pitched to 84 consecutive
batters without a walk which says a lot about his ability.
The rookie top prospect is 2-0 with a 2.38 ERA and 10 strikeouts
in 11.1 innings. He was called up after posting a 0.93 ERA
and 1.01 WHIP in six starts.
