Hitting Prospects

Brett Wallace - 1B/3B - Blue Jays

He was more of an Ike Davis type coming into 2010, but has found a power stroke in Triple-A Las Vegas smashing nine home runs while batting .298. The Blue Jays are playing good ball, so he made need some to make a trip to the DL to get the call, so keep your eyes open.

Carlos Santana - C - Indians

The future catching-stud is batting .308 with nine home runs in Triple -A Columbus. It is just a matter of time before he gets the call.

Dayan Viciedo - 3B - White Sox

The Cuban is batting .298 with nine home runs. He is just 20, so the Sox may wait till the end of the year, but with Mark Teahen struggling at 3B, Viciedo may get a shot earlier.

Kila Ka'aihue - 1B - Royals

The may have to find a place for him to play with Billy Butler manning the first base position, but his seven home runs and .306 batting average (.466 OBP) will make it hard for the Royals not to find a spot for him soon.

Neil Walker - 3B - Pirates

He is batting .325 with 6 home runs, 2 triples, 17 doubles and 10 stolen bases. Andy LaRoche is struggling to hit, so Walker might get a chance soon.

Buster Posey - C - Giants

He is batting .333 with 5 home runs in AAA Fresno. He is in the minors to work on his catching and the Giants are being patient with him. He could get the call after the All-Star break.

Desmond Jennings - OF - Rays

Another young Ray that fantasy owners should be licking their chomps about. Desmond hit 10 home runs, 11 triples, 31 doubles, and stole 52 bases in 2009 AA Montgomery and AAA Durham combined. Pop and speed. A young Carl Crawford ...Potentially.

Michael Stanton - OF - Marlins

He is tearing it up in AA and now has a Minor League-leading 15 home runs for Double-A Jacksonville. The 20-year-old could get the call in late May or early June if he continues to hit.

Starting Pitching Prospects

Jake Arrieta - Orioles

One of the top pitching prospects in baseball is 4-2 with a 1.93 ERA. He will get the call soon.

Stephen Strasburg - Nationals

He is simply the best pitching prospect in baseball in years. Thus far in Triple-A Syracuse he is 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 22 K's in 18.1 IP.

Madison Bumgarner - Giants

The 21-year-old is 3-1 with a 3.64 ERA and 32 K's in 42 innings in AAA. The Giants are being patient with him and he is not likely to be called up till after the All Star break.

Luke French - Mariners

He is dominating Triple-A going 5-1 with a 1.61 ERA. The drawback is that he is not a strikeout pitcher (35 K's in 61 IP).

Chris Resop - Braves

The 27-year-old has been up before and is currently 4-1 with a 2.03 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 48 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Aroldis Chapman - Reds

The flame thrower is 4-2 with a 3.98 ERA in Triple-A Louisville. The Reds are not in a rush to bring him up, but he should see some time in the MLB in 2010.

Jeremy Hellickson - Rays

A power righthander with three-pitch command. With a sneaky 3/4 delivery, he is a strikeout pitcher posting 162 K's 148 innings last year.

Michael Kirkman - Rangers

The 6-4 lefty is 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA and 41 K's in 44 IP.

Jeremy Hellickson - Rays

A power righthander with three-pitch command. With a sneaky 3/4 delivery, he is a strikeout pitcher posting 162 K's 148 innings last year.

Kevin Pucetas - Giants

The 24-year-old is 10-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 74 K's in 128 innings in AAA. The Giants have plenty of pitching so it would either a trade, injury to be called up before roster expansions.
