Hitting Prospects

Justin Smoak - 1B - Rangers

He is a .300 hitter with 20 home run potential. He is currently in AA, but it isn't impossible to see him by the end of the season in Texas.

Jordan Brown - 1B - Indians

He is batting .330 with 7 home runs. THe Indians are crowded at first base, but watch his name if trades should occur. He can bat .300 and hit around 20 HR's.

Jesus Guzman - 3B - Giants

He is batting .370 with 7 home runs in AAA Fresno. He will likely only get a call due to injury or as a backup, but if he can play shortstop and second base in addition to third base, he could have a shot at the Giants starting lineup by season's end.

Austin Jackson - OF - Yankees

He is batting .310 with 17 stolen bases AAA. Could get a call if veterans Damon or Matsui go down.

Drew Stubbs - OF - Reds

Leads the International League with 38 stolen bases for AAA Louisville. He is batting .275 with 3 home runs.

Allen Craig - 1B/3B - Cardinals

He is going to have trouble finding a spot in the crowded Cardinals lineup, but watch for him late in the season He is batting .293 with 17 home runs.

Starting Pitching Prospects

Wade Davis - Rays

He is 9-6 with a 3.21 ERA and 106 K's in 120.2 innings. The Rays have a lot of young pitchers, so he will have to wait.

Kevin Pucetas - Giants

The 24-year-old is 10-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 74 K's in 128 innings in AAA. The Giants have plenty of pitching so it would either a trade, injury to be called up before roster expansions.

Carlos Torres - White Sox

He is off to great start at 3-1 with a 0.91 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 28 innings. The Sox need pitching.

Yorman Bazardo - Astros

He is 9-4 with a 2.76 ERA & 71 K's in 124 innings in 2009. At 25 he is primed for a call-up.
