Fantasy Baseball Scout: Starting Pitcher Prospects

First Base Prospects

Justin Smoak - Rangers

Smoak is batting just .192 since his call up, but he has hit three home runs and has a decent OBP of .306. With just 52 at bats it is a small sample size and he needs a bit more time and the Rangers seem to be given him a bit of a leash.

Chris Carter - A's (Minors)

He is just 23, so he may not even make the team, but he has big-time power and that will always make fantasy owners drool. He bashed 39 home runs in 2008 A+ Stockton and followed that by hitting 26 and batting .326 in 2009 AA Midland and popped four more home runs in 2009 AAA. Another one to watch in Spring training and maybe throwing your last pick at.

Ike Davis - Mets

He has seemed to settle into the Mets first base position and he just may be there a long time. He is not a future stud by any means, but .290 and around 20 home runs is not out of the question.
