Round-by-Round
2008 Mock Draft Analysis |
Round 1
Round went according
to the overall rankings, as they should with the exception
of Ryan Braun, whose is projected at #6 overall, but can
be drafted later and therefore he fell to 10. Albert Pujols
was taken at #8. Concerns about his injuries are holding
him out of the top 5, though many belieive he can still
be healthy enough to be the best. All ten teams use the
Pro Fantasy Baseball rankings as there guide for the Mock
Draft. After the first round the draft begins to go on its
own and has plenty of gambles and surprises.

Round 2
Round continued to go according
to the overall rankings untill a minor change with Chicago
Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano going at #14. Team G said,
"Soriano is not even close to a reach at 14. Soriano
can be a top 5 fantasy player in 2008. I like him more than
Ortiz simply for the fact that he is position eligble. The
round finished with team B taking Grady Sizemore above Berkamn
and Granderson and said, " look, they are ranked equal
and I think Sizemore had a bit of a down year, while Granderson
had a banner-year. I don't think Granderson can have a better
season than he did in 2007, while Sizemore can. Berkman was
very tempting, but I chose all-around statistical ability
over Berkman's power.
