Sleeper Report: Bargains
The fantasy-flop of early 2011 showed signs of life after moving to Detroit where he batted .274 and hit eight home runs with 168 at bats. With on off season to fully recover from his nagging 2011 injuries as well as time to make some much needed adjustments, the former #1 overall pick could be back to his 2010 form when he batted .298 with 21 home runs.
Hitting in the fifth slot, Young could knock in 85 to 100 runs and should be good for a near .300 average and around 20 home runs.
The bottom line is that there is nothing like a change of scenery and some big bats in a line up to get a hitter going and you add that to the fact that Delmon Young is also playing for a contract, and he should should prove to be a draft day bargain.
