Sleeper Report: Breakouts
Anibal Sanchez – SP – Marlins
At the age of 28 Sanchez is coming into his prime right when Miami has retooled its offense, added a stud closer and is ready to make a run at a pennant.
Thus far in Sanchez’s six year career he has pitched well, but never had the wins to go along with the pitching. He has posted a career 39-38 record with a ERA of 3.72. He has posted a career 566 strikeouts in 673.1 innings pitched which calculates to a solid 7.56 K-ratio, but in 2011 he stuck out 202 in 196.1 innings pitched which calculates to a very impressive 9.27 K-ratio.
An improved K-ratio, an improved bullpen (Heath Bell) and an improved offense could make Anibal Sanchez one of the better pitchers in fantasy baseball in 2012 and you can get him at a relatively cheap draft price.
